Overview
Prinsengracht Canal House focused on the final layer of residential design — the elements that transform a completed architectural shell into a lived-in home. The project centred on creating atmosphere through carefully considered curation.
Design Concept
Rather than introducing statement pieces, the design relied on balance, craftsmanship, and subtle layering. Contemporary furniture, vintage finds, and artisan-made objects were selected to complement the home's architectural character while adding warmth and personality.
"Maison brought warmth and humanity into the house. Nothing feels overdesigned, yet every detail feels intentional."
Approach
The studio developed a curation strategy centred around natural materials, tactile textiles, muted colour palettes, and collectible pieces sourced from specialist galleries and makers across Europe.
Key Collaborators
Contemporary Art Gallery
Vintage Furniture Dealers
Textile Atelier
Decorative Lighting Studio
Outcome
The residence now feels highly personal and effortlessly sophisticated. Through thoughtful curation rather than renovation, the project demonstrates how furniture, art, and objects can profoundly shape the atmosphere of a home.
